Why we Choose a Thermia Atec Heat Pump
Thermia was established way back in 1923... over 90 years ago and
been in the forefront of heating appliance manufacturing since its
initial humble beginnings. Thermia began manufacturing the first
heat pumps in Arvika, Sweden in the late 1960’s and been
developing new and innovative products year in year out since then.
The global research and development centre was inaugurated in
2007. This separate building covering around 3,000 square metres is
sited next to our head office in Arvika, Sweden. Over 30 engineers
work here, focusing on creating high-tech, energy-efficient solutions
for tomorrow.
The centre has special climate and sound rooms that can reproduce
all the climate conditions, ranging all the way from the tropical to the
arctic, that we must be able to master if we are to supply heat
pumps all over the world.
Our research and development centre comprises:
- One of the most modern climate halls in Europe
- A sound-insulated hall to measure sound levels (dB) in soft
- conditions (sound is absorbed by the surroundings)
- A sound-insulated hall to measure sound levels (dB) in hard
- conditions (sound rebounds from the surroundings)
- The latest equipment for development of mechanics and
- electronics
Thermia Heat Pumps have won several prestigious awards
throughout Europe such as the Swedish Energy Agency heat pump
competition held in 2012 where the Thermia heat pump won top
prize in all categories such as best performance and savings and best
in hot water production among several others.
